Today there is a substantial amount of young individuals living on the streets, the reasons for which vary immensely and include abusive families, individuals fighting an addiction or mental illness, economic or social issues, etc... Unfortunately, any young individual not living at home is perceived as being either a junkie or juvenile delinquent that is easily dismissed from society and written off as unsalvageable. These kids lie in a stream of invisibility and it is time to change this fictitious understanding of how they appear to the rest of the world. As we look the opposite direction, we are putting our younger generation at risk for more physical abuse, sexual exploitation including more single parent and teen mothers, mental health disabilities, chemical or alcohol dependency, and death. Oasis and the Salvation Army support these young people as they work to turn their lives around and overcome immense personal traumas such as neglect and physical, psychological and emotional abuse. One of their children is proud to share his debilitating life experiences with the rest of the Australian community through a stage play called Children of Destiny. This will provide an informative channel toward prevention while educating families and serving young peoples developmental needs. In the future we hope to establish a system where homeless youth can reunite with their families and enter a counseling program that can tackle issues within this dysfunctional situation. As we may not be able to end youth homelessness in its entirety, we can make sure that a family separation or vile domestic occurrence doesnt lead to long-term homelessness. The most important issue at hand is improving mental health and family systems throughout the world. As a message to those families that are struggling now with any bone of contention, nip it in the bud before its too late. Value your life and the life of your children. This isnt a dream, it is reality there is no permanent escape so stop running and start addressing these issues.Ask yourself these questions: WHATS YOUR RELATIONSHIP LIKE WITH YOUR FAMILY? WITH YOUR PARENTS? WITH YOUR CHILDREN? This play will show you that most of these kids are not at fault for their situation. They are children whose destiny carried them along an undeserved path and as a result got caught up in a series of bad choices. So lift up a helping hand and change destiny with CHOICE. WHAT WILL YOUR CHOICE BE?

WHAT WILL YOUR CHOICE BE?
Tonight there will be nearly 105,000 people without a home in Australia; 16,375 of them with the streets as their bed; 1 out of every 238 people in NSW are homeless. About 644 newly homeless Australians won't even find the help they need due to lack of availability. On top of that, 35,000 of the homeless, are CHILDREN!
'Children of Destiny' will not only reveal one man's true story, but mimic the thousands that have yet to be heard.
